Studio Policy

LESSON RATES

Students may enroll in one of the following lesson formats:

• 30-Minute Private Lesson: $30 per lesson
• 60-Minute Private Lesson: $60 per lesson

Students may enroll in a regular weekly lesson time.

PAYMENT

Payment for scheduled lessons is due before the first lesson of each month.

The monthly amount due is based on the number of lessons scheduled for that month. Payment may be made by cash, check, or approved electronic payment methods.

Students with outstanding balances may not be permitted to schedule additional lessons until payment is received.

SCHEDULING

Students reserve a regular weekly lesson time in the studio schedule. This reserved time is held exclusively for the student and remains their lesson time unless otherwise arranged.

Occasionally, the instructor may need to adjust the schedule due to holidays, performances, professional commitments, or other circumstances. When this occurs, the instructor will communicate any changes as far in advance as possible and may provide options for rescheduling or credits.

Because lesson times are reserved specifically for each student, consistent attendance is expected. Students who wish to discontinue lessons should provide advance notice so their lesson time may be made available to another student.

The studio calendar, including planned holidays and breaks, will be communicated in advance.

ATTENDANCE AND PREPARATION

Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons, arrive on time, and come prepared to learn.

Students are expected to bring all required books, sheet music, assignments, and other lesson materials to each lesson.

If a student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time. Additional time cannot be guaranteed.

Students who forget necessary materials may still participate in the lesson, but lesson activities may need to be adjusted based on the materials available.

PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS

Regular practice between lessons is essential for steady musical growth. Students are expected to practice consistently throughout the week and to make a sincere effort to complete assigned exercises, pieces, and other lesson materials. While the amount of practice needed will vary based on age, experience, and individual goals, daily practice is strongly encouraged. Meaningful progress is achieved through consistent effort between lessons, and students who practice regularly will gain the greatest benefit from their instruction.

MISSED LESSONS

The studio does not offer makeup lessons for student absences, regardless of the reason for the absence. Signing up for lessons reserves a consistent weekly lesson time for the student.

This policy includes, but is not limited to:
• Illness
• School events
• Sports activities
• Family vacations
• Scheduling conflicts
• Forgotten lessons

Because each student reserves a dedicated weekly lesson time, that time cannot typically be reassigned on short notice.

The studio recognizes that unforeseen emergencies can occur. In exceptional circumstances, the instructor may, at their sole discretion, offer an alternative lesson time, virtual lesson, or lesson credit when scheduling permits. Such accommodations are not guaranteed and are considered on a case-by-case basis.

TEACHER ABSENCES

If the teacher must cancel a lesson that has already been paid for, one of the following options will be provided:

• A makeup lesson at a mutually agreeable time, or
• A tuition credit applied to a future month's payment

Students will never be charged for lessons canceled by the teacher.

WEATHER AND EMERGENCIES

Lessons canceled by the teacher due to severe weather, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances will be rescheduled or credited.

Lessons canceled by the student due to weather concerns are considered student absences and are not eligible for makeup lessons.

DISCONTINUING LESSONS

Students wishing to discontinue lessons must provide at least 30 days' written notice.

Payments already processed are non-refundable.

By enrolling in lessons, students and parents acknowledge that they have read and agree to these studio policies.
